BRGR

So hi everyone, long time no blog. *crickets* Anyway.. I’ve been looking for places with great shawarma coz i miss eating legit ones with fries and garlic sauce and all that goodness. I’ve also been looking for labneh because seriously it’s like… PERFECTION and ugh it tastes so good, just thinking of it right now is making my mouth produce more saliva than usual. I was so excited the other day while I was searching on the net coz I actually found ONE place called Mana-ish and More that served both. Not much info or reviews on the place but yeah.THEY WERE THE ONLY PLACE I COULD FIND WITH LABNEH ON THEIR MENU so good enough… RIGHT? So since it was Friday (despite the fact that I had class the next day), I planned to go and check it out. My boyfriend (which I believe I haven’t properly introduced to you guys *crickets* but yeah i’ll make a post next time lol) went with me and I was so excited then BAM i was like this looks exactly where it should be BUT WHAT IS THIS I DO NOT SEE MANA-ISH OR LABNEH OR MORE OR SHAWARMA OR.. yeah you pretty much get the point. So I thought maybe this wasn’t the right place or something so I asked the guard and he said something along the lines of.. “IT’S GONE FOREVER AND YOU’LL JUST HAVE TO DROOL OVER PICTURES OF SHAWARMA AND LABNEH ON THE INTERNET.” That made me very sad huhu I even checked out the menu of the new resto but no, they didn’t have them. This is the part where I stomped away in depression and anger lol and my love was just saying it’s okay but prolly laughing in his head because I was on the verge of a tantrum. HAHA I WAS THAT EXCITED OKAY. So we walked around looking for some place to eat after he convinced me that there was still hope in the world…
That’s when we came across….

And must I say, I kinda forgot about the shawarmas for a teensy while…the interior was quite interesting. I loved how they kept a chalk-y theme.

It seemed like a chill place to hang out and after seeing the awesome make-your-own burger menu, we decided to eat here instead. And you know how I love burgers.. (actually you don’t know so I’m informing you now that I do in fact love burgers)

And cmon they had mozzarella sticks. Anything with cheese, I’m up for it. They tasted really goooood. They also used paper straws which is something I’ve never seen before. Might be environmentally friendly but I could taste the paper while drinking. Haha.

We also made our own burger…TADA! It has an angus beef patty, bacon, egg, mozzarella, garlic sauce…and I don’t remember the rest. No veggies coz we don’t like them healthy things.

Here’s my handsome boyfriend taking a bite with them pinky fingers standing up.

Here’s me taking a bite with my two fingers standing up as well coz we’re fancy like that.

The burger tasted really gooooood! I definitely recommend this place to all the burger lovers out there. The mozzarella sticks were delicious as well!! The Burger Project is really unique because you’re able to decide what goes into your burger, even the bun!  These make your own restaurants are starting to become really popular coz they’re so different from the regular restos. Just the other day, I checked out Project Pie, a DIY pizza place! I’ll be blogging about that soon. :)

And so that’s all for this post!! Make sure to stop by this unique burger place. This one’s located on Jupiter Street in Makati but there are other branches as well!

Dinelli

If you have the tendency to crave for cheese like there's no tomorrow, this is a good place to satisfy that craving. *wink* Located at BGC, Dinelli's is the place to go if you're one for the pasta, the pizza and the cheese. They offer other things as well but seriously the place smells like cheese.. so naturally, cheese would be the reason for me to ever go back there. It might not be the best smelling place in the world, but like they say when they talk about cheese (and only cheese, this doesn't apply elsewhere HAHA), the worse the smell, the better the taste. Not that I'm a cheese expert or anything.. so correct me if I'm wrong. And c'mon, they have activity place mats.

These two pizzas were absolutely deliciosooo, if you're a big fan of cheese of course. Some people don't like cheese sooo boo you. Haha! Kidding. Not sure what the one on top was called but the bottom one was their.. Four? Or Five Cheese Pizza. Yum. I think I had the most slices, excuse me for being such a cheese monster. :(

Oh and this. Their mac & cheese was another YUUUUUMY for my TUUUUUMY. I have no idea what kind of cheese they put in it but it definitely had an easy time working its way into my tummeh. So I apologize for the repetitiveness of the word cheese throughout my post, but I do hope everyone who does get to read this.. *crickets* will understand the cheese craze when they visit this place. And again, I'm not a cheese expert or anything close. I haven't tried all the cheese in the world and I probably won't like it all but for now enjoy the cheese!

Eighteenth

This is one month late but what the heck, I'm posting it anyway because this has been one of the most memorable birthdays ever! Remember how I greeted myself in my "I'm 17 turning 18" post? And when I told myself to have a blast? Well... *wink* I definitely didn't spend my night drinking and dancing in a club (just in case you're reading this Mom.) Nah, just kidding. I had an amazing four days, five if you count when I ate out with my family and family friends back in Saudi but that was way back so four, starting from my birthday. I'm glad I had a separate day for each of the special people in my life. One for my college friends, relatives and last but not the least, my high school friends. Being 18 is supposed to be one of the major stages of your life because you're finally an "adult." It's supposed to be a time where you look back at your 18 years of existence and smile because of the people you've met, the places you've gone.. basically the life you've lived. (Don't get me wrong. Life doesn't stop at 18!! It starts. *wink* I've been winking too much, haven't I? Sorry. Ok, this is too long.. I should really put the closing parenthesis now..) So this is what happened during those awesome days...

I was only supposed to have a birthday dinner at Bierra and treat my college friends but turns out, this sweet boy (who I happen to love by the way) transformed the dinner into a surprise debut. I had such an amazing time and the night was perfectly perfect.  He told me he'd planned it a month before and even made a Facebook group for my birthday. Just typing that makes me smile. Haha.

The next day, me and my relatives had dinner at Haru, the new Japanese restaurant in Kapitolyo. It was a sort of reunion as well since I didn't see all of them so often. It was nice to spend time with people who have watched you grow throughout the years. One of my cousins asked where the big party was and my other cousin was like "This is the big party!" Hahaha! Ohh my cousins make me laugh all the time.

I met up with my high school friends (shout out to Novi, my high school AND college classmate) the next day and we had lunch at Fish & Co. at Mall of Asia. It's been a long time since I've seen them and gosh, I realized how much I missed them. The others I invited weren't able to come but that's alright. We still had so much fun! We watched Breaking Dawn Part 2 after and oh my that movie was ASDFGHJ. Quoting Novi... it definitely felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. We also rode the MOA eye (not that different from the London eye, I assure you. Lol.) and the view was amazing. Had a great time with them and hoping to see them soon!

I was supposed to blog a detailed version of each but since it's a bit too late and my laziness is coming over me...I leave you all with that! I might blog on the food and movie soon though.

So I can't believe I'm 18 already and it's been more than a month! I just want to thank everyone, my family, relatives, friends, in short my loved ones for making me the person I am today and for making all this possible. Love you all!

Pray for Newtown

Such sad news this is. Looking at these little kids' pictures makes me cry. How could someone do such a horrible thing? I pray for these angels who are in heaven right now. Just imagining how their parents feel gives me such heartache. They all had lives ahead of them; a high school and college to go to, people to meet, emotions to be felt, things to do... and to think all that gone because of some painful and terrifying death. My prayers and condolences reach out to those who died in this incident, not only to the kids but to the members of the staff who were shot as well. They died trying to save these children and for that they will be remembered. Also to their parents, families and to the whole world because this is just one example of how evil the world is becoming these days. There are so many angels up in heaven who weren't able to have a future because of some reason, may it be because of violence or may it be because of some unfortunate incident. It just goes to show that anything can happen these days. May they all rest in peace.

All I Want for Christmas

It's almost Christmas and to get into the holiday vibe.. *sings* I don't want a lot for Christmas, there's just SOME things I need.. Heehee. Here's my Wishlist 2012!

1. The Lover's Dictionary (This is definitely at the top of my list! The others that follow have no particular order.)

2. Scrapbooking materials (Always on my list, I can never get enough! Haha.)

3. Art supplies (I apologize for my frustrated artist-ness.)

4. Feather Calligraphy Pen (My want for this started back when the first Harry Potter movie came out. I used to pretend with fake feathers. I even taped a pencil to a feather once just to feel like a wizard. Haha!)

5. Wax Seal Set (Another one that started with the Harry Potter movies!)
6. City of Lost Souls (The 5th book of the Mortal Instruments Series! The first movie, City of Bones will be coming out on August 2013 and I'm so excited for that!)

So those are on the top of my wishlist, hoping to get two of them in my Kris Kringles this year. ❤

But that's not all I want..

7. SWEATERS! (I know it's hot here in the Philippines.. but sweaters are just too cute!)

8. Casual Dresses!

9. Brown & Floral Oxfords

I know these are very materialistic but it doesn't hurt to wish for them! I know Christmas isn't about presents and gifts so even if I don't get any of these, it's alright.. there's always next Christmas.. or other holidays. Haha! Kidding.

(All pictures here are either from Google or Tumblr.)

Being Seventeen

So my birthday's tomorrow and I'll be turning EIGHTEEN. Yes, it is the age when kids become.. well.. party-goers. Haha. Kidding. It's the age when... nahh. I don't wanna talk about being eighteen yet. I'm too young for that!

Seventeen to me is the vampire age. Vampire? FYI, I'm definitely not a vampire (though sometimes I wish I was). Haha. So why vampire.. if any of you know the series Vampire Diaries and of course, the ever popular  Twilight books and movies, you'd know that Stefan (from TVD) and Edward (from Twilight) are both forever seventeen. Seeing that my birthday is tomorrow, I just wanna get bitten right now and stay seventeen forever but I guess in reality, it doesn't work that way. YES I'M SAYING VAMPIRES DON'T EXIST! *Edward comes bursting into my window* Sorry to all the vampires out there.. Well if you want me to believe.. then BITE ME. Lol. I'm kidding. Please don't. I HAVE GARLIC! *evil laugh*

So my seventeenth year in this world... maybe I should quote The Fault in our Stars when Hazel said,

"Late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mother decided I was depressed, presumably because I rarely left the house, spent quite a lot of time in bed, read the same book over and over, ate infrequently, and devoted quite a bit of my abundant free time to thinking about death."

But don't get me wrong, I'm not depressed! Maybe I think that sometimes but no, hopefully I'm not. And why should I be? I'm blessed. :) Maybe I don't leave the house often. and maybe I do spend A LOT of time in bed but the rest, "ate infrequently?" Seriously? I've gained like.. 234567 kilograms. My seventeenth year has been quite an interesting year for me. I'll tell you guys more about it next time but for now, I just want to write this to remember my seventeen year old self.. *dramatic pause* and to wish my eighteen year old self a lot of good luck!

I'll be blogging more often, hopefully! Yeah, yeah. I know that's what I said the last time and the time before that and the time before that but yeah, hopefully I won't get lazy! So advance happy birthday eighteen year old self and have a blast!

Hmm. Is it normal to greet myself a happy birthday.. ? Oh well. Just did! Too lazy to erase. Haha. Kidding. I'm not that lazy!! :(
