Eighteenth

This is one month late but what the heck, I'm posting it anyway because this has been one of the most memorable birthdays ever! Remember how I greeted myself in my "I'm 17 turning 18" post? And when I told myself to have a blast? Well... *wink* I definitely didn't spend my night drinking and dancing in a club (just in case you're reading this Mom.) Nah, just kidding. I had an amazing four days, five if you count when I ate out with my family and family friends back in Saudi but that was way back so four, starting from my birthday. I'm glad I had a separate day for each of the special people in my life. One for my college friends, relatives and last but not the least, my high school friends. Being 18 is supposed to be one of the major stages of your life because you're finally an "adult." It's supposed to be a time where you look back at your 18 years of existence and smile because of the people you've met, the places you've gone.. basically the life you've lived. (Don't get me wrong. Life doesn't stop at 18!! It starts. *wink* I've been winking too much, haven't I? Sorry. Ok, this is too long.. I should really put the closing parenthesis now..) So this is what happened during those awesome days...

I was only supposed to have a birthday dinner at Bierra and treat my college friends but turns out, this sweet boy (who I happen to love by the way) transformed the dinner into a surprise debut. I had such an amazing time and the night was perfectly perfect.  He told me he'd planned it a month before and even made a Facebook group for my birthday. Just typing that makes me smile. Haha.

The next day, me and my relatives had dinner at Haru, the new Japanese restaurant in Kapitolyo. It was a sort of reunion as well since I didn't see all of them so often. It was nice to spend time with people who have watched you grow throughout the years. One of my cousins asked where the big party was and my other cousin was like "This is the big party!" Hahaha! Ohh my cousins make me laugh all the time.

I met up with my high school friends (shout out to Novi, my high school AND college classmate) the next day and we had lunch at Fish & Co. at Mall of Asia. It's been a long time since I've seen them and gosh, I realized how much I missed them. The others I invited weren't able to come but that's alright. We still had so much fun! We watched Breaking Dawn Part 2 after and oh my that movie was ASDFGHJ. Quoting Novi... it definitely felt like a rollercoaster of emotions. We also rode the MOA eye (not that different from the London eye, I assure you. Lol.) and the view was amazing. Had a great time with them and hoping to see them soon!

I was supposed to blog a detailed version of each but since it's a bit too late and my laziness is coming over me...I leave you all with that! I might blog on the food and movie soon though.

So I can't believe I'm 18 already and it's been more than a month! I just want to thank everyone, my family, relatives, friends, in short my loved ones for making me the person I am today and for making all this possible. Love you all!

Pray for Newtown

Such sad news this is. Looking at these little kids' pictures makes me cry. How could someone do such a horrible thing? I pray for these angels who are in heaven right now. Just imagining how their parents feel gives me such heartache. They all had lives ahead of them; a high school and college to go to, people to meet, emotions to be felt, things to do... and to think all that gone because of some painful and terrifying death. My prayers and condolences reach out to those who died in this incident, not only to the kids but to the members of the staff who were shot as well. They died trying to save these children and for that they will be remembered. Also to their parents, families and to the whole world because this is just one example of how evil the world is becoming these days. There are so many angels up in heaven who weren't able to have a future because of some reason, may it be because of violence or may it be because of some unfortunate incident. It just goes to show that anything can happen these days. May they all rest in peace.

All I Want for Christmas

It's almost Christmas and to get into the holiday vibe.. *sings* I don't want a lot for Christmas, there's just SOME things I need.. Heehee. Here's my Wishlist 2012!

1. The Lover's Dictionary (This is definitely at the top of my list! The others that follow have no particular order.)

2. Scrapbooking materials (Always on my list, I can never get enough! Haha.)

3. Art supplies (I apologize for my frustrated artist-ness.)

4. Feather Calligraphy Pen (My want for this started back when the first Harry Potter movie came out. I used to pretend with fake feathers. I even taped a pencil to a feather once just to feel like a wizard. Haha!)

5. Wax Seal Set (Another one that started with the Harry Potter movies!)
6. City of Lost Souls (The 5th book of the Mortal Instruments Series! The first movie, City of Bones will be coming out on August 2013 and I'm so excited for that!)

So those are on the top of my wishlist, hoping to get two of them in my Kris Kringles this year. ❤

But that's not all I want..

7. SWEATERS! (I know it's hot here in the Philippines.. but sweaters are just too cute!)

8. Casual Dresses!

9. Brown & Floral Oxfords

I know these are very materialistic but it doesn't hurt to wish for them! I know Christmas isn't about presents and gifts so even if I don't get any of these, it's alright.. there's always next Christmas.. or other holidays. Haha! Kidding.

Being Seventeen

So my birthday's tomorrow and I'll be turning EIGHTEEN. Yes, it is the age when kids become.. well.. party-goers. Haha. Kidding. It's the age when... nahh. I don't wanna talk about being eighteen yet. I'm too young for that!

Seventeen to me is the vampire age. Vampire? FYI, I'm definitely not a vampire (though sometimes I wish I was). Haha. So why vampire.. if any of you know the series Vampire Diaries and of course, the ever popular  Twilight books and movies, you'd know that Stefan (from TVD) and Edward (from Twilight) are both forever seventeen. Seeing that my birthday is tomorrow, I just wanna get bitten right now and stay seventeen forever but I guess in reality, it doesn't work that way. YES I'M SAYING VAMPIRES DON'T EXIST! *Edward comes bursting into my window* Sorry to all the vampires out there.. Well if you want me to believe.. then BITE ME. Lol. I'm kidding. Please don't. I HAVE GARLIC! *evil laugh*

So my seventeenth year in this world... maybe I should quote The Fault in our Stars when Hazel said,

"Late in the winter of my seventeenth year, my mother decided I was depressed, presumably because I rarely left the house, spent quite a lot of time in bed, read the same book over and over, ate infrequently, and devoted quite a bit of my abundant free time to thinking about death."

But don't get me wrong, I'm not depressed! Maybe I think that sometimes but no, hopefully I'm not. And why should I be? I'm blessed. :) Maybe I don't leave the house often. and maybe I do spend A LOT of time in bed but the rest, "ate infrequently?" Seriously? I've gained like.. 234567 kilograms. My seventeenth year has been quite an interesting year for me. I'll tell you guys more about it next time but for now, I just want to write this to remember my seventeen year old self.. *dramatic pause* and to wish my eighteen year old self a lot of good luck!

I'll be blogging more often, hopefully! Yeah, yeah. I know that's what I said the last time and the time before that and the time before that but yeah, hopefully I won't get lazy! So advance happy birthday eighteen year old self and have a blast!

Hmm. Is it normal to greet myself a happy birthday.. ? Oh well. Just did! Too lazy to erase. Haha. Kidding. I'm not that lazy!! :(

MUSIC OF THE NIGHT *cue music*

So last October 5, I watched one of the most beautiful shows I've ever watched. Maybe even the most beautiful since I haven't really watched much things like this before. Or maybe even if I had watched stuff like this before, this would have been the best because.. it definitely was! The Phantom of the Opera was so amazing and I'm glad to have watched it with my favorite boy. *blush*

It's actually my first time to go to the CCP which is the Cultural Center of the Philippines. So even before getting inside the show itself, I was already amazed by the building and the chandeliers and all. The place was huge with all these big, beautiful staircases. Haha.

The set was perfect. *tears* Everything was. I mean seriously c'mon, there was a CHANDELIER.. AND IT MOVED AND HAD THOSE SPARKS. YES SPARKS. Christine, Raoul and of course the Phantom were all perfect as well. They had the most amazing voices! Their costumes were so pretty and the rest of the cast was so perfect as well. I watched the movie before watching it live and I would just love to applaud the people who did the set design and all that because they did it perfectly, even better than the movie! One of my favorite scenes was the one where the Phantom was rowing Christine into his lair and OH MY THERE WAS FOG AND IT LOOKED LIKE THEY WERE REALLY ROWING AND OH MY IT LOOKED LIKE THE WHOLE FLOOR TRANSFORMED INTO WATER. AND IT WAS BLUE AND THEY EVEN HAD THE CANDLES AND ALL. Another fave scene was the one when Raoul and Christine were on the rooftop. LIKE OH MY GOSH, IT ACTUALLY LOOKED THEY WERE ON A REAL ROOFTOP AND IT LOOKED SO BEAUTIFUL 'CAUSE YOU COULD SEE THE BUILDINGS BELOW THEM AND ALL. Another scene was the Masquerade one and OH MY THE MUSIC WAS AMAZING AND ALL THE PEOPLE IN MASKS. PERFECTION. In short everything was so ASDFGH PERFECT and take note that ASDFGH PERFECT is better than just perfect. Haha. The characters, lights, set, costumes and of course the voices combined turned my night into pure magic.

Well of course, the best and most.. well hard to get over thing about the production is the music. The orchestra was amazing! The music was lovely and yes, I'm still singing the songs right now. PERFECTION TIMES INFINITY! Definitely worth watching and it's something I would lalalalove to watch again in the future!

Finals week is kinda over.. but I still have one paper left then it's officially my sembreak. WOOT! *party* Sooo I just wanna give a short update on some stuff I did back in September.

So my cousin, Nikki (check out her blog!), came over with tiny packets of dye and we had our first ever tie-dyeing session! Haha.

We followed some instructions we got online.

And yes, the first thing we tried it out on was our pantylets. Yes, pantylets. We didn't want to risk it on other pieces. Haha. It turned out great so we tie-dyed other stuff as well but I didn't really get to take pictures so yeah, hey there pantylets. Haha!

I also got my nails done. I got them painted in the color.. Green with Envy by Orly.
